Volta is a booking website for on-demand regional electric air travel. This prototype explores a different way to organize air travel. With Volta, there are no schedules. Prices are dynamic and reward flexibility. This reduces the amount of flight movements. Volta is a discussion tool to explore frictions with the existing air travel system. Think of business models, regulations and more. Volta helps to show how the way we organize things will need to transform when we put in place new technologies.

The future of regional aviation

The Volta prototype is the booking website of an imaginary future electric airline servicing the Kvarken region, speculating on the user-experience of on-demand regional aviation. Three key features set this system apart from air travel as we know it. There is no schedule, pricing directly reflects flexibility and travel is booked from address to address. The aim of Volta is to make a possible new form of future travel experienceable, in order raise discussion on what is desired.
